Description
The Hawaii Local Swim Committee (LSC) is hosting the Junior
Pan-Pacific Swimming Championships at CORP on Thursday, August 22nd
through Sunday, August 26th.
As a member of the Hawaii LSC, we are obligated to assist with the
running of this meet. Participation on Saturday and Sunday
(August 25-26) is mandatory for all swimmers from the CORP Junior,
Gold and Silver groups (everyone in receipt of this
email). This is a perfect opportunity for all of our
advanced swimmers to get a taste of what all of their parents are
forced into doing for them at their swim meets and to give back to
the swimming community that supports them week in and week out.
Swimmers should plan on being at the pool from 8:00am to
11:00am AND from 4:00pm to 7:00pm each day. Swimmers
will need to wear their Aloha Aquatics T-Shirts so if you need
a new one please email Equipment@alohaaquatics.org so that we can have
them available for you first thing Saturday morning of the
meet.
Swimmers will be responsible for Hospitality, Timing, assisting
with Award Presentation, Presentation of Finalists and as office
runners.
The Junior Pan Pacific Champs will include the top 20 girls and
boys between the ages of 13 and 18 from the Pacific Rim Nations
including the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand who
did not qualify for the 2012 Olympics will compete in this
International Championship Swim Meet. The U.S. team will be
made up of the top one or two swimmer in each Olympic event based
on the combined results from the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, 2012
U.S. Open and 2012 Speedo Junior Champs. As a volunteer at
this meet, our swimmers will have a front row seat to see the U.S.
and Pacific's top up and coming swimmers in championship action.
